HSK (level)
Basic
Lv1~2
Can speak a few words, and it's hard for me to understand easy words spoken by native speakers. This level is recommended for lesson with English-speaking tutor.

Pre-int
Lv3
Can speak some short sentences, but it's hard for me to understand them if spoken by native speakers.

inter
Lv4
Can speak sentences for daily expression but find it hard to communicate in a situation I am not familiar with.

Upper-int
Lv5
Can communicate in most contexts but find it hard to manage a dialogue with long-sentence expressions.

Advanced
Lv6
Can use Chinese in most contexts to communicate but lack fluency while using advanced vocabulary.

Basic
Lv1~2
I studied Chinese less then 3 months (can read PinYin, know tone changes, etc.).

Lv3
I have been studying Chinese for around 4 months, and have an HSK level 3.

I have been studying Chinese for more than 10 months, and have an HSK level 4.

I have been studying Chinese for 1 year and a half, and have an HSK level 5.
